Montanita in Equador rocks,remember the name if any of you ever come this way.
The place is a little surf village in the middle of the coast in equader.Everthing in the street from the table's and chair's,to the restuarant's and hostels are all made from hand crved wood straight from the tree,no machine work,nada.
Its quite an arty little place with a great energy and the local's give out great vibe's.
For instace,there is not one ploiceman around,dont even think there are many laws,none needed,and damn the community works well.
Saturday night for i visited a big party on the beach,12 Dj's,it started at 4pm on saturday and finished at 10am on sunday.It was wild,pools,three gal's to one guy (brazil style) and crazy happy people everywhere.Thumping music drowned the town all night long,i unfortunatly did'nt make it all night long due to my responsbility of getting my ear better.But one hell of a party none-the-less.
Sunday arvo saw salsa and merenge tune's played on speakers littered throughout the town,nice.
Then sunday night there was a huge band at the local church.The partie's never end and its as if everyday is a saturday.The best is,not one person complains about the racket at all.One for all and all for one here.
Anyway,the band must have moved outside the church at about 12 midnight,a solid stint,well so i thought.
This is where the local piss heads come in.
At last check of my watch the band was still cranking out the tune's at 5:30am, no shit.They had made it an all nighter,but most impressivly they not only started at the church,but had decided to start marching through the town at 5:30am.
At this point i was in bed laughing really hard,what a wonderfull country,the youngens on saturday night,then the oldies going all night proving that they also know how to party.
This must have been the encore as it all came to a sudden end at 6am,but not to the delight of the crowd,Yep still a crowd.They were pissed off and made some noise for more but no luck.
All this and also the salsa band at the soccer in between during the day.
Man i love it,so much music,sun,partying and so many happy people.
Thats all we need now in oz,all night parties during summer on the streets,i'd vote for someone running that campaign.
Well i wonder what tonight will bring?
