These were all taken at Scar Reef in Sumbawa.
On days of awaiting swells with not a worry in the world its hard to sit back and not get involved with the tropical beauty of the region.
Here are some special treats gathered from the beach in about a 150metre stretch.

GILI ISLANDS AND THE LUNAR ECLIPSE

28th August 2007
The Gili islands are three small islands that lay off the north west coast of Lombok.
The waters getting here are treacherous,as its a 2km deep trench between Lombok and Bali with all the water from the South china sea exiting and entering through here.Tides move a pace of 7 knots alone here.Now this was fun for me but old clint suffered as he had 2 hours sleep and was still drunk.
Anyway the gili's are well known for their partie's,especially the full moon partie's.
The gili's are to put it simply,straight out of the carribean.There are no police here,everything is legal in the drug area,music and chilled cafe's line the beach,the weather hot,scenery amazing,coral reef for snorkelling,the most laid back locals and a euro backpacker hotspot.Now this of course is.........
A recipe to party in Paradise.
Not only was it to be a full moon but we scored a lunar eclipse,Two hours of watching the red moon rise then slowly lighting up from bottom to top,it was a beautiful experienc,all the time lying on an outdoor bed in a bar sipping away at cocktails.Once the show was over it was time to hit the party on the beach on the north side of the island.
The locals would say as you walked past,ecstasy,cocain,mushrooms,marijuana,can i get you ANYTHING....
well as expected we had a dabble,and the rest,well the rest was the funnest blur ever,till dawn.
Gili islands are a must see if ever in bali,beautiful

BIKES AND BURNS

Had a good stack on the motorbike the other day in Lombok.
It is one great thimg about indonesia,you can hire a bike for 3ozzy dollars a day and ride anywhere you like, anyhow you want.
Fast slow inside,outside cars,up one way streets backwards,on the footpath,drunk.
All sounds pretty dangerous huh,well its not really at all.
And yeah your thinking im full of it cos i crashed and burnt my leg,but...
i was actually stationary taking photos and dropped the bike on my leg and the motor burnt the shit out of me.

GO BALI

Bali,Indonesia august and september 2007.
Here in the dry season its a land of left hander's.And as a goofy footer that suits me just fine.In the south of bali lies The Bukit penninsular that is the home to many famous waves from Uluwatu,padang padang,bingin,impossibles and a few more.
More world class wave than you can poke a stick at.
The water warm,the sun shining,waurngs (local restuarants) line the beach for a half time feed and cold drink or Bintang for 3 dollars oz,and the service,well the balinese locals are some of the nicest people i have met anywhere.
Sounds like heaven huh,well its damn close,the only thing it has not going for itself is crowds,surfers from every corner of the globe swarm here in the dry each year to surf the best waves of their live's,here in bali and on the islands close to here.
Go Bali,go to bali,i fucking love the place.
